Event Information

NLS’s 60th Anniversary Celebration will take place in the evening on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in the UPMC Club (East Club) at Acrisure Stadium.

The event promises to be a memorable evening, featuring stories, awards, speakers and special guests who have supported the mission of NLS through it’s 60-year history.

The 60th Anniversary Celebration is not simply a reflection on the past. NLS ensures that the law remains a source of protection — not a barrier. Proceeds from the event will directly support NLS’s core legal programs and help ensure that these services remain available as community needs continue to grow.

The event will be a memorable evening featuring stories, awards, speakers and special guests who have supported the mission of Neighborhood Legal Services through its 60-year history.

Special Guests (As of March 31, 2026) 

  • Governor Josh Shapiro has been invited and the Event Committee feels confident that he will be attending as a keynote speaker.
  • Madam Chief Justice Debra Todd will be attending and is one of our keynote speakers.
  • As a featured speaker, we are inviting Kenneth Feinburg, who was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as the Administrator of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund which was created by an act of Congress shortly after the September 11th attacks in 2001. He also served as Chief of Staff to Senator Ted Kennedy. He is also a nationally recognized attorney specializing in mediation and alternative dispute resolution.

Special Awards (As of March 31, 2026)

  • The Judge Stanton Wettick Award to a person who has been a Champion of Justice for Neighborhood Legal Services for the majority of its 60 years.
  • A Special Joint Award will be presented to former Chancellor Mark Nordenberg of the University of Pittsburgh and President Ken Gormley of Duquesne University for their five decades of service to not only their Universities but to the communities of Western Pennsylvania.
  • The Pillar of Justice Award to the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership
