The event promises to be a memorable evening, featuring stories, awards, speakers and special guests who have supported the mission of NLS through it’s 60-year history.

The 60th Anniversary Celebration is not simply a reflection on the past. NLS ensures that the law remains a source of protection — not a barrier. Proceeds from the event will directly support NLS’s core legal programs and help ensure that these services remain available as community needs continue to grow.

Founders' Award

This award is jointly being presented to Ken Gormley, former President and current Chancellor and Professor of Law at Duquesne University, and Mark A. Nordenberg, Chancellor Emeritus of the University of Pittsburgh, whose visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to public service, and enduring support for access to justice have strengthened the legal profession, expanded opportunity, and advanced the promise of equal justice for all.

The Honorable R. Stanton Wettick, Jr. Legacy of Justice Award 

Presented to the Honorable Maureen P. Kelly, Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania, an individual whose career has advanced equal justice, strengthened the legal profession, and inspired future generations to serve the public.

60th Anniversary Tributes 

A special tribute to Robert V. Racunas, Esq., for a lifetime of leadership advancing equal justice presented in grateful recognition of four decades of visionary leadership as Executive Director of Neighborhood Legal Services.

Pillar of Justice Award 

Presented to the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership, honoring the alliance of law firms, corporate legal departments, court administration, and legal advocates whose signature projects and vital support structure have shaped the region’s pro bono ecosystem and advanced our shared commitment to equal justice for decades.
