Our History
In 1966, fourteen visionary leaders established Neighborhood Legal Services Association, setting out on a path of equal access to justice for all residents in the Pittsburgh region. Sixty years later, the nonprofit mission of NLS is to meet the legal needs of low-income and vulnerable individuals in our community through effective legal representation and education.
For 60 years, Neighborhood Legal Services has helped individuals, families, and communities throughout Western Pennsylvania. As we prepare for our 60th anniversary celebration, we're gathering photographs, stories, and memories that capture the people, milestones, and moments that have shaped our history.
Whether you served on our staff, Board of Directors, volunteered, partnered with us, or were touched by our work, we'd love to hear from you! Your submissions may be featured during our 60th Anniversary Celebration, in our commemorative video, on our website or social media, and in future historical publications.
