Sara Steimer is a staff attorney at Neighborhood Legal Services’ Pittsburgh Office. She is tasked with helping victims of crime focusing mostly on Protection from Abuse and Custody matters.

In 2017 Sara graduated Cum Laude from PennWest Clarion and received the “Outstanding Graduating Senior Award” upon graduation. Sara received her Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law in May of 2020, and achieved bar passage in the same year.

Before joining Neighborhood Legal Services, Sara worked for the now Honorable Nicola Henry-Taylor as an associate at Henry-Taylor Law P.C. At Henry-Taylor, Sara mainly practiced family law including, protection from abuse, custody, divorce, support, and juvenile dependency matters.

During law school, Sara had the opportunity to intern at several nonprofits. Such nonprofits included the Juvenile Court Project representing parents undergoing dependency proceedings; and the Divorce Law Project through the Allegheny County Bar Foundation helping low income people obtain free simple divorces.

Sara also participated in the Family Law Clinic during her time at Duquesne. The Family Law Clinic worked together with the Allegheny County Family Division’s Pro Se department to offer free legal advice and services to income qualified clients.

In her free time Sara volunteers with an antilitter group helping clear local roads of trash and litter.
