Call the Clinic at (412) 648-1300
The University of Pittsburgh School of Law Tax Clinic gives free legal help to persons, based upon their level on income, who have income tax problems or need income tax advice. The Tax Clinic is operated by the School of Law students supervised by three law professors who are experienced tax lawyers. The Clinic is not connected with and is completely independent of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Clinic members give advice and assistance for:
- Income tax returns being examined by the IRS
- IRS tax collections problems
- Tax cases pending before the United States Tax Court
They do not do tax return preparation!
If the Clinic decides to represent you, they do so free of charge.
If you qualify, a law student will return your telephone call and arrange to meet with you to talk about your problem. All conversations with you are confidential.
The Clinic will decide whether or not to represent you depending on:
- The level of your income
- The issues involved in your case
- The availability of the law students
