Managing Attorney for Family Law
Professional Experience
As NLS’s Managing Attorney for Family Law, Attorney Hargreaves supervises several attorneys and interns. The Family Law Unit works cooperatively with the Court’s staff to address a great majority of the Protection From Abuse (PFA) cases filed and heard in Allegheny County. This function requires multiple team members to be present at the courthouse every Monday through Thursday. Another function of the team is to provide assistance, and in some situations full representation, in other family law matters, particularly custody matters. Attorney Hargreaves supervises and manages a team of attorneys, providing mentorship to attorneys and the law student interns, developing training and assisting with caseloads and time management.
Aside from working with NLS staff directly, he offers support to pro bono attorneys so that they may effectively offer legal assistance to clients assigned to them. Attorney Hargreaves also works to help build support for legal aid and increased by developing and presenting community and legal education trainings in various areas of family law.
Education
Daniel is a proud product of Temple University in Philadelphia. He received his juris doctor from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2003. Before law school, Daniel completed his undergraduate studies at the Temple University Klein College of Media and Communication, graduating in 2000 summa cum laude. Daniel is actively involved in the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Temple University Alumni Association, serving as its chair since 2014.
Memberships
Daniel is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar Association. He also serves as a board member of the Alliance of Consumer Protection of Beaver County, and presently serves as its treasurer. Daniel is an active member of the United States Concealed Carry Association.
