Allison Martin

Professional Experience

Allison Martin is currently the Social Worker for community members accessing services through the housing attorney’s at NLS.   Utilizing a trauma-informed approach, she provides support and assistance to those who are facing homelessness.  Working alongside NLS attorneys who provide free legal advice, Allison offers individuals: crisis counseling, education, information and referral, assistance with housing applications, individual advocacy and other services as uniquely needed.

Prior to joining NLS in 2020, Allison worked as an advocate for victims of domestic violence at the Alle-Kiski Area HOPE Center from 2016 until 2020 and Crisis Center North from 2007 until 2016.

Education

Allison earned her M.S.W. from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Social Work in 2012. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Indiana University of PA in 2007.  Ms. Martin also holds a certificate in “Social Work Administration” from the University of Pittsburgh.
