As Neighborhood Legal Services Association celebrated its 50th anniversary year in 2016, the scope and nature of the agency’s broad range of essential services to the community are reflected in the outcomes for fiscal year 2015-2016 listed below. Our staff of 22 attorneys served 17,489 residents of Allegheny, Beaver, Butler and Lawrence Counties including seniors, veterans, victims of domestic violence and other low income or underserved populations who did not have the ability to pay for legal help. The staff’s efforts were aided by 267 pro bono volunteers from 45 area law firms and corporate legal departments.

We provided these and other services, and assisted many of our collaborative and community partners including the Women’s Center & Shelter, Familylinks, United Way Helpline, UPMC McKeesport Hospital, Veteran’s Leadership Program, Operation StrongVet, Children’s Primary Care Center, Pennsylvania Women Work, and the YWCA just to name a few. Thousands of area residents rely on NLSA every year regarding their safety, shelter, food, warmth, work or health. We greatly appreciate support from the community to fulfill this important mission.
